Ms. Agnès Al Toki, professor at the Sultan Qaboos University, awarded the National Order of Merit under the Francophone countries
At a reception held at the residence of France on the 27th of October 2013, Mr. Yves Oudin, Ambassador of France in Muscat, presented Ms. Agnes AL Toki , the insignia of a Knight of the National Order of Merit .
During his speech, the Ambassador emphasized the importance of this badge, which far from being a secondary order, is a specific and special decoration which aims to distinguish the merits of individuals who spread the culture and the French language worldwide.
By this distinction, there are values that are rewarded , actions, behavior, tenacity and continued efforts both in the workplace and in social relationships to promote and transmit the French language and culture.
The appointment of Mrs. Agnes Al Toki symbolizes a recognition of the achieved for nearly 20 years, since her arrival in Oman. She has put all her efforts in the teaching of French, beginning with her contribution for five years at the Omani-French Center in Muscat and by creating workshop for non- French speaking children to school in Muscat and today by being a French teacher at the Sultan Qaboos University .
