In the frame of the promotion made by the French Embassy in the Sultanate of Oman on ecological matters, and following two previous workshops on green architecture and sustainable development held in 2010, this seminar treated the important question of waste. It reviewed what is at stake for Oman as well as the waste management technologies existing and the opportunity for producing electricity from the recycling of waste.

According to the agreement reached between the INRA (National Institute of Agronomical Research) and the CCE, the Cooperation and Cultural Service of the Embassy invited representatives from several research institutes and specialized companies to attend and participate in the workshop.

Around hundred people attended the workshop, mainly students, professors, private sector employees, and members of the Omani administration.
